The Monadnock Rugby Football Club played two hard fought matches this past weekend at the Marble Valley invitational tournament held by Rutland RFC.  Their opening match against the Bennington Battle was off to a rough start as they went down early to the would be champions of the weekend.  Malachi Belluscio scored the Wolfpack's lone try in their 7-27 loss with Jr Baird kicking the conversion and Mike Giacomo coming close to a second.

MRFC had a chance to even the score with Framingham from the previous weekend's loss at Framingham, in their second match of the day.  However rocky beginnings found the the Wolfpack pinned back against their own try line and down a man within the first 15 mintues.  Only a valiant defensive team effort kept Framingham from scoring at the onset of each half.  Superb man marking to shut down Framingham's offensive threat by RJ Flemming and two tries by Malachi Belluscio saw Monadnock's great team effort rewarded with their first victory of the Spring 2012 season.
